England Women’s Euro 2022 Final: Who Was in the Starting 11 Squad?

Football season is welcomed with bustling sports clubs and the promise that ‘it’s coming home’. On Sunday 31st of July, the Lionesses truly did bring it home with an exceptional 2-1 finish against Germany at the 2022 Euro Finals.

VICTORY FOR THE LIONESSES

England Women’s team kicked off the Euro 2022 Championship with a 1-0 win over Austria at Old Trafford. On the 11th of July, they dominated Norway with an eye-watering 8-0 win followed by a 5-0 win over Northern Ireland.

Sailing through to the knockout stage, England faced Spain. After a challenging start, the women’s team pulled through to win 2-1. Up next, the Lionesses faced Sweden in the Semi-Finals, and proved their skill with an impressive 4-0 win.

On the 31st of July, England faced Germany, after the German side beat France in the Semi-Finals. The Lionesses were exceptional in the Final and made history for women's football:

"England created history by winning their first major women's tournament in a dramatic Euro 2022 final against old rivals and eight-time champions Germany at Wembley."

Ella Toone kicked things off with an early goal for England before Germany's Lina Magull equalised in the 79th minute. During a tension-filled extra time, substitute Chloe Kelly secured the winning goal to the roar of 87,192 fans in the crowd.
