Katie Chapman is an admired former English footballer who developed a remarkable career for herself within the sporting industry. Passionate from a young age, Katie began her youth career at the age of ten at Millwall Lionesses. Working her way up through their academy allowed Katie to have her senior debut for the team in the 1996/97 season four years after she joined. As a regular starter, she participated in many important games during her time at the club, including the FA Women’s Premier League and FA Women’s Cup. Nominated as the FA Young Player of the Year, Katie began advancing in her career and signed for teams such as Fulham Ladies, Charlton Athletic and Arsenal Ladies. For the last four years of her career, Katie signed for Chelsea Ladies and secured her 10th winners medal before announcing her retirement.
Having started her footballing career at such a young age, Katie was selected to be part of the England under-18s team in 2000 and showcased her abilities as team captain in front of audiences around the world. As a respected England player, she made her first international senior debut aged 17 in the 2001 UEFA Women’s Championship Qualification and gained the opportunity to make 94 appearances in total for the team. Katie devoted her career to the England squad and experienced many highs and lows for the club throughout her career.
